Conceptual Strategy: Ephemeral Systems (Orenda)
This work is a profound exploration of Conceptual Strategy—the art of translating intangible principles (such as Orenda, the spiritual power inherent in objects and nature) into structured, observable reality.
Strategic Vision and Method
Narrative Design and Mythos: The project's genesis lies in integrating deep philosophical mythos and symbolism directly into the design framework. This demonstrates my expertise in using high-level narrative strategy to create environments that resonate with meaning beyond their physical form.
Systemic Translation: This endeavor focused on designing a system that visually explores the tension between the ephemeral (the conceptual/spiritual) and the tangible (the designed artifact). My role was to define the aesthetic and structural rules necessary to translate complex, invisible forces into predictable, observable spatial phenomena.
Visualizing the Unseen: The outcome showcases my ability to create immersive visualizations of abstract, non-physical states. This skill is critical for agencies and leaders who need to articulate intangible concepts—like brand ethos, psychological safety, or market sentiment—into clear, compelling designs.
This project is not about architecture; it is a case study in Strategic Empathy, proving my ability to master the complexity required to design systems that evoke profound emotional and conceptual connections.
Orenda emerges as a visionary project that honors the past while ushering in a dynamic future for the Elisabeta-Kogalniceanu area. Observing models of community development through the implementation of immersive technologies and games for an open-design approach, Orenda creates a space that supports an equal access to research, culture and technology for any citizen. The architectural approach is therefore and age-friendly one, including facilities for young people as much as elders and also encouraging the social interaction of both categories.
Orenda
Experimental Center for Art & Technology, Bucharest
Life-long learning, co-learning and immersive learning are but few of the most impactful concepts in the context of digital era.
Placed in the Elisabeta-Kogalniceanu area, Orenda is designed with a deep community engagement and a shared sense of purpose, and stands as a driving force for the revitalization of Bucharest's protected zones, effectively turning them into thriving ecosystems.
This approach weaves an intricate web, connecting Orenda harmoniously with neighboring museums, historical landmarks, progressive schools, and charming cultural gems like private music schools and cozy bookstores.
